“Told from many perspectives” is a claim this archive has to be able to prove. Bring an essay, a research paper, a thesis, a lineage, a recording, a work of art or a testimony you were trusted with — and keep your name on it.
What we hold to
- Certainty is mandatory
- Every non-fiction entry is marked recorded, remembered or told. If you are not sure which, say so in your pitch — that is a normal thing to be unsure about, and it is better discussed than guessed.
- African sources come first
- Research and theses cannot publish without at least one citation. Where colonial records and African scholarship disagree, we name the disagreement rather than flattening it.
- Correction over invention
- Where the record is thin, we say it is thin. Nothing here is filled in with a plausible-sounding guess, and nothing generated publishes without a named human author behind it.
- Rights before publication
- Every image, recording, video and document needs a rights statement before it can be attached. If you did not make it, tell us who did and on what terms we may use it.
- Your byline is yours
- Contributors keep their name, affiliation, country and links on a profile page. Retractions carry a public reason and the URL stays alive.
